About the Show…

Behind Don Giovanni’s confidence and relentless chase of pleasure lies something far more serious: a man who openly challenges God, society, and the natural order. Because of this defiance, his fall becomes certain, and the consequences severe. Mozart’s music presents this story with direct, unmistakable power.

Don Giovanni is often seen as the purest expression of Mozart’s genius - an opera that brings every side of human nature into one story. The noble and the base, the tragic and the absurd, the spiritual and the sensual all appear together, constantly touching and colliding. These contrasts unfold over music that many consider among the most extraordinary ever written.

It was this combination that led Richard Wagner to call Don Giovanni “the opera of operas.”
